Care2 should feel like home then. Vegans and anti-animal husbandry sentiment there are disconcerting to any shameless omnivore like myself…who happens to agree current ‘pharming’ practices are unsustainable and heading for the cliff. A biography of CIA chief / bankster Nelson Rockefeller and his adventures in corporate farming in central and south America will help illuminate prior experience in petroleum-dominated crop raising now augmented by atrocities cultured in Hawaii. See if you can find the video ‘The World According to Monsanto’ as it has a habit of being ‘lost’. Even ‘The Real Winner in Iraq was Monsanto’ had a switcheroo pulled. Once my link led to Monsanto H.Q. !

Sean Connery of James Bond and more starred in ‘Medicine Man’ some years back. The postulated cure for cancer loss to bulldozers is a bit less concerning to someone who has read up on fungal growth being the disease and cancer the symptom…or food grade H2O2 as a cure for ailments.

I think you likely know my ‘take’ on climate change as a ‘science.’
What I do object to is the distraction from legitimate concerns.
The meat industry confined animal feeding operations ( CAFOs ) pollute groundwater. Grist had a summary up some years back implicating pesticides,pharmaceuticals and other chemicals – plus manure, of course – as being a biohazard to the whole Mississippi River Basin ! When I was blogging at opit.wordpress.com I noted that story along with articles from Berry Street Beacon and Bluebloggin…also WordPress blogs as I concentrated on WordPress political blogs before the club started up at ChenZhen’s.
August 2009 around the 13th I reported on more dysfunctions in agriculture – better linked in ‘Corporate Farming’ in the Topical Index – that I got from a raw milk advocate and a retired Ohio farmer on the Care2 site. That place and Current TV have had a wild bunch of revelations…though a Search on ‘Don Rumsfeld Monsanto’ should give wild returns…that have seemingly been overrun in ‘Water – Wealth & Power’ by hydrofracking reporting. That’s sparkplugged at texassharon in Texas Political Bloggers – Bluedaze.
Destruction of Amazon rainforest has amazing complements in planting of eucalyptus on the eastern seaboard. Eucalyptus kills other plants, its branches fall off, and the needles host a particularly nasty fungus : just the lab Frankenstein for U.S. pulp and paper to install in place of native growth.
If you want scary, check on results of introducing poisonous alien life in a biosphere not evolved for same.
And palm plantations have replaced jungle in Asia.
